The fight against moisture

The biggest potential problem facing classic cars is corrosion. The older the vehicle the more likely it is to be made from steel rather than materials that have more protection against moisture and rust. As a result it is important to be incredibly careful when storing the vehicle to ensure there is no way any moisture can get to it. Even the smallest amount can cause rusting.

The trick to storing classic vehicles safely and preventing corrosion is to ensure they are completely dry before you store them. When they are dry the cars should be stored in an enclosed facility where there is no moisture present and no way for it to get inside. The vehicle can then be covered for additional protection.

If you want to go even further to ensuring the vehicle will not suffer from rust you can utilise an air chamber. These enclosures protect the contents by ensuring that the air inside is filtered to remove moisture and other contaminants. Some of them even feature fans that keep the whole enclosure dry, even through temperature variations that could lead to condensation.

Air chambers come in a range of sizes to cater for different sized vehicles. When you decide to purchase one you should ensure the product is large enough for your vehicle so it can be stored safely. It is a good idea to measure the width, length and height of the car before choosing. This will help you to get a good fit. If you want to be able to move around the vehicle to work on it while it is in storage you’ll need to choose a slightly larger chamber.

We have extensive experience with air chambers. We know how great they are for protecting classic cars and stock a wide range of them for consumers to purchase.
